Additional Information

Getting Around:

The best way to get around Bali is by downloading the Gojek app which works very similarly to Uber and is very user-friendly for tourists. Private cars can generally be organised through your accommodation upon request. For any trips over 40mins or where you would like to stop and then return a while after, a private car is generally better as they will wait in the area for you for your return trip.

Visa Information:

Please be aware that Australian Passport holders require a Visa for Bali. The visa can be purchased on arrival or organised beforehand online. Please also make sure that your passport is valid for 6 months after your travel date as you will not be allowed entry to Indonesia without 6 months or more valid on your passport.

To enter into Indonesia, you can now pre-pay for your visa ->

You can also pre-clear immigration -> https://ecd.beacukai.go.id/

Bali, Indonesia – Introduction of tourism levy
Bali’s government has announced the introduction of a foreign tourist levy from 14 February 2024. The fee is 150,000IDR per person, approx. AUD15, and can be paid via the official Love Bali website prior to departure. The website will provide a levy voucher via email, which can then be scanned at checkpoints on arrival.

Counters are also available for payment on arrival, but cash is not accepted.

If clients depart Bali for another part of Indonesia and then return again, they can avoid paying a second time by carrying their levy voucher or receipt with them.

Airport Information:

Most accommodations have links to private drivers to help with your airport transfer when you arrive into Bali. Having a transfer when you arrive is essential as organising a Gojek is very difficult and the airport can be at times overwhelming when trying to organise a driver on the spot.

There is an online goods declaration form that needs to be filled out in the airport after you process your visa form and collect your baggage. There are QR codes posted on walls that take you to the form to fill out and show to immigration before you leave the airport.

The wi-fi is not fantastic in this area so if your phone is not working for the form there is a set of computers where you can fill them out.

When looking to exchange currency, please note that the exchange rate is much better in the Denpasar airport in comparison to the Australian airport.

Bali Do’s & Don’ts:

Don’t drink tap water including brushing your teeth.

Don’t eat street food if you are not used to eating street food in foreign countries.

Do wear modest clothing when visiting temples.

Please let us know once accommodation is booked so we can arrange a shuttle bus to a central area for drop offs post wedding events.
